Hi Missy! Happy Birthday to you...
I suffered through an abusive marriage/divorce myself back in the late 80s... it takes a while to get past the head games and other things they find to throw at you.
Believe me you are worth something, you are pretty, you are smart, you can and will make it on your own!!! I know I have been there.
I think what helped me most was being told I had to start liking/loving myself. Be who I was, first I had to learn who that was, but you know?
Once you are comfortable in your own mind and skin, its all downhill. You don't have to care what others think or say, you know what and who you are - and the rest can just go.... wherever!!!
Good Luck. If you want to become friends, I'm ok with that. I have a lot of experience under my belt, if I can be any help, just let me know (actually two bad marriages and one bad relationship, am in another alcoholic relationship now, but is better than the others, have laid down some ground rules - unfortunately, they don't always work), but I always have the 'walk away' option... which I have done and can do again.
